Doctors Orders: Buy a Hybrid electric bicycle

One family finds that their health, high gas prices, and high stress lives have a common solution.


Aliso Viejo, CA (MMD Newswire) March 22, 2010 -- Like so many Americans, Keith and Mary Felch of Aliso Viejo, CA were deeply concerned about the rising cost of gasoline, their ailing health, and the amount of stress in their lives.

Hazmat Training Comes to Indianapolis

Racecar project sponsored by Lesjöfors

March 22, 2010 (MMD Newswire) -- In the student project Chalmers Formula Student, a high-qualitative prototype of a racecar is designed and built by engineering students. The car's qualities are tested at Silverstone, UK, in an international competition for students. Lesjöfors sponsors the project with customized chassis springs.

The project gathers a team of around 25 students every year to build a single-seated racing car. The team consists of students with different backgrounds and nationalities and creates a good environment for creativity and learning. The team starts from scratch and develops its own concept, which is later realized to a design and then manufactured, all by the students themselves. The project also includes making an overall planning and real-life exercise in working in a live project with meeting deadlines, team work and cost estimation.

Best performing car wins
To put the car to the test, the project is completed with a competition, Formula Student, at Silverstone in United Kingdom where the team compete against international teams from all over the globe. A jury, who also nominates the winning car, judges the qualities of the vehicles. The winner must have very high performance in terms of acceleration, braking, and handling qualities. It must also be low in cost, easy to maintain, and reliable. In 2009, the Swedish team from Chalmers University of Technology came in an honorable 15th place out of 90 teams.
